Students may choose to participate in our Enrichment Program, which includes the following activities:
Arts and Culture
Students will learn numbers, colors, greetings, days of the week, songs, stories and practice listening, speaking, reading and writing in Spanish in an immersion setting.
Career Exploration and Preparation
Students work together to produce the yearbook.
Student-elected officials represent the student body and help plan activities and events for our community.
Aims to empower and teach girls and boys values such as honesty, fairness, courage, compassion, character, sisterhood/brotherhood, confidence, entrepreneurship, and citizenship through activities including camping, community service, learning first aid, and earning badges by acquiring practical skills.
Cooking and Nutrition
Students will practice reading and math skills in a fun and dynamic hands-on cooking class that is built around the natural phenomena that occur in cooking. Your budding chef will be kept on their toes as they uncover the secrets in everyday recipes in this hands-on after school cooking club. Sponsored by Taste Buds Kitchen.
Students of the “Green Squad” will brainstorm “Green” initiatives and practice recycling, composting and rooftop gardening (weather permitting) around school.
Sports and Fitness
Soccer students play at SHJ in friendly lead up games and activities. Sponsored by Super Soccer Stars. Basketball-students play with/against other schools in friendly lead-up games and scrimmages.
Students learn how to write Weekly Newsletter, while practicing key skills of journalism and communication.
